Is Buffalo Right for You?

There are many reasons to relocate to Western New York.  Buffalo is a big city with a hometown feel which means that residents of the region benefit from all of the convenience of urban life without the long lines and traffic jams; the average commute is only about 20 minutes long.  Don’t take our word for it; Buffalo was rated as the 10th Best Place to Raise a Family by Forbes Magazine, America’s #1 Most Affordable City by Forbes Magazine and 2nd Best City to Relocate to in America by CNBC.com.

There is a tapestry of old, new, suburban, urban and rural places to choose from when searching for your Western New York home. You will likely be pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of architectural styles and neighborhoods. The best news is we have some of the most affordable homes in the country, giving buyers square footage and amenities they might never have been able to afford in more expensive communities.

Western New York’s schools rank highly – with options including public school districts, private schools and charter schools.  The options for higher education are excellent as well; the region is home to approximately two dozen colleges and universities, each with diverse fields of study.  The State University at New York system (SUNY) boasts its largest research institution (University at Buffalo), its largest education and arts campus (Buffalo State College) and several specialty and community colleges in Western New York.

Activities abound in all four seasons with dining (and not just great Buffalo chicken wings, we have outstanding fine local dining, a wide variety of ethnic restaurants, and vegetarian eateries); community and professional sports, including the NFL’s Buffalo Bills and the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres; a vibrant music and arts community rated as the top arts destination for mid-size cities by American Style Magazine; outdoor adventure with parks and playgrounds, bike and hiking trails; and plenty of shopping.  Your toughest choice will be how to fit it all in your social schedule!
