Daemen College Visual Effects (VFX) Certificate Program

Students participate in the VFX program at Daemen College

About the Program

Daemen College aims to create a pipeline for the growing post-production industry through its Animation Program and Visual Effects Certificate Program. Upon completion of one or both of these educational opportunities, graduates will have the skills needed to pursue jobs at post-production companies that serve major film and television studios across the country.

Students build their skills and talents using today's most contemporary post-production visual effects equipment and resources at our Amherst campus, which includes state-of-the-art software, hardware, and computers made possible through the state's investment in the program.

Daemen is currently partnering with Buffalo Public Schools Career and Technical Education Programs to make this opportunity available to qualified high school juniors and seniors.

The program is a prime example of how Western New York’s colleges and universities are fostering entrepreneurship in exciting new industries and providing new opportunities for students, in the hope that it will attract new companies to locate in Buffalo.

Fostering Academic and Industry Partnerships

In July 2013, Governor Cuomo announced a committed investment designed, in part, to create a visual effects industry in Buffalo. The investment provided the equipment to support a program at Daemen College to teach visual effects for post-production work in the film industry.
